J.Town is a father first and foremost, a musician, entrepreneur and a strong believer in the future of our youth

My role model has always been my mother because she’s such a hard worker and doesn’t know the definition of giving up

What experiences have shaped your life?

Seeing my mother struggle to take care of me on her own has really helped me become my own man. Losing friends to violence and other bad situations made me realize that life is what you make it, you just have to make the right choices

What traits or values drive your personality?

I am a very respectful individual and it’s a trait I’m very glad to have. Being humble is something my family always told me to be but also to be headstrong because people will try to take advantage of your kindness.

What are some of the challenges you face on daily basis?

The main thing is time. Wish I had more time to put in more work

What will you say are your motivators?

Great music. I listen to the likes of Marvin Gaye, Lenny Williams, Al Green, Ronald Isley, Heat Wave etc. because the were musician’s that made you believe in their music and they were not just artists. They were the truth and I want to be remembered as such When I’ve passed

What makes you unique as an individual?

I’m J.Town, what you see is what you get. This how I am day in day out. There’s no need to be fake and I don’t plan on changing. Fame will change you only if you allow it.

Can you please tell us about some of your personal achievements and future aspirations?

I won the 06 Phat Farm Rap Battle which the prize was $10,000, I placed 1st in Emcee Africa in the Ghana preliminaries and placed 2nd in the whole of Africa at the finals in South Africa. I’ve had 3 successful mixtapes, which the 1st one is the most downloaded in Ghana and my 2nd mixtape No Mask got me nominated for the Channel O Music Video Awards and the Ghana Music Awards. I’m working towards building an entertainment empire which would allow me to branch into film, fashion, TV, brand building etc.

What sacrifices have you had to make to be a successful entrepreneur?

SLEEP!!!! LOL.

Where do you see yourself and your business in 10 years?

In 10 years my business and brand will be amongst the top businesses in the African continent
