Who is Charlie Jones?

Charlie Jones is a Musician, Social activist and Super-Hero.

This is the story of Charlie Jones, your average Ghanaian boy, fresh out of university and bursting with high hopes of changing the world. Strong minded and ever positive, he is determined to make a difference.  However, like the rest of us Charlie is also a product of his environment.  The negative experiences / influences that he has witnessed and been exposed to throughout his life often hold him back from realizing his true potential and vision.

In the world of Charlie Jones mind exists two forces. The first is his true vision and essence, pure and untainted by the world. The second is the manifestation of all his fears, negative influences and experiences, which warped his mind and took the form of Kweku Sensei, his alter ego.  Unlike the socially conscious Charlie, Kweku Sensei is the archetypal rebel without a cause. Dismissive of Charlie’s principles and ambitions, Kweku Sensei is the uninhibited darker side of Charlie Jones.

Charlie Jones is constantly forced to face his altered personality Kweku Sensei for control of his mind and invariably his future/destiny.

--Charlie Jones is a metaphor for progress and self-empowerment.

--Kweku Sensei is a representation of the less socially conscious youth and the status quo.

Their conflict represents the struggle of the youth in overcoming social pressures, (drugs, crime etc), in overcoming the “powers that be” (Those in positions of power who don’t look out for the youth and for the people but only seek to enrich themselves), and in overcoming the pitfalls and setbacks in life to achieve their dreams.
