THE WOLFCUB INITIATIVE aims to motivate, support and aid positive young people to effectively influence their communities.
As part of our social responsibility campaign, Wolfpack reached out to the Young People’s Guild (YPG), a Christian youth organization born of the Adenta Presby Church. Their mission/mandate is not only to organize the youth for Church activities but to ensure the social and financial development of youth within and outside their church.
At our meeting it was clear that the YPG was a very socially conscious group with many great ideas and they are eager to see positive changes in all aspects of the youth, from education, to spiritual and financial development. It was on this basis that Wolfpack decided to lend its helping hand in support of their cause.
The project YPG was most eager to get underway was the refurbishment and re-opening of their internet café. Apart from its basic use as a café to raise revenue, YPG hopes to utilize the facilty as an IT training School with qualified members of the organization serving as its instructors. In these modern times Computer literacy is crucial to the development of both the individual and society as a whole and YPG wants to play their part by educating as many people as they can.
The second item discussed was the ‘Vegetable Farm’ project. They are currently in the process of securing a suitable piece of land for this purpose. Upon fruition, the farm will be the source of income for both YPG (for re-investment in future projects) and for those who will be tending to it.
YPG will be organizing a bazaar in early January 2012. It will be open to all. Its purpose will be firstly to give YPG some much needed exposure and publicity and also to raise funds and accept donations from philanthropists. On the day, there be such attractions as “THE PROFESSIONAL ADVICE BOOTH” where attendants can get professional tips and advice(how to write a C.V, how to conduct yourself during an interview etc) from qualified Human Resource persons.
